Who we are

VirtualX is owned and operated by Dragon Alexa (Pty) Ltd (“Dragon Alexa”, “we”), a South African company. These terms cover every way you use VirtualX: the platform at app.virtualx.tv, the VirtualX Android app, and our study-help number on WhatsApp.

Accepting these terms

VirtualX is a gated platform: lessons are available only to people with an account. Before your account is created you must tick the box that accepts these terms. If you do not accept them, sign-up does not go ahead.

Accepting these terms means you agree to everything they include: the Privacy Policy, including how we collect and use learning data and the cookies the platform uses; the Acceptable Use Policy; the Child Safety and Safeguarding Policy; and the AI Transparency Policy. When you buy access, the Payment and Refund Policy also applies. We record which version you accepted, and when.

Learners under 18

If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you. When you tick the box at sign-up, you confirm that you are 18 or older, or that your parent or guardian has agreed. A parent or guardian may ask us at any time to close the learner’s account.

Your account

Sign up with your own email address and keep your password private. Access is personal to the account holder and cannot be transferred or shared. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

Access and term

Paid access is granted for a fixed term stated at purchase. It does not renew automatically and ends when the term ends. Access given to you by a school or partner organisation lasts for the term of the seat it gives you.

Your learning record

Using VirtualX creates a record of your learning: the lessons you open and watch, how far you get, your answers to self-check questions, and how you use the study assistant. This record is part of the service. It shows you your own progress, helps us improve lessons and questions, and, if a school or partner organisation gives you access, lets that organisation see figures about its learners as a group. Those figures never name a learner and are never shown for a group of fewer than ten learners.

The Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it and how long we keep it.

Using VirtualX properly

Use of VirtualX is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy. Sharing paid access outside your account, redistributing lessons, and creating accounts or using the platform with automated tools are not permitted.

Study help

The study assistant is a study aid, not a teacher and not an authority. Check what it tells you against your lesson and your teacher. The AI Transparency Policy explains how it works.

Content ownership

Lessons and other content on VirtualX belong to Dragon Alexa (Pty) Ltd or its licensors. Access lets you view them for your own study. It does not give you any ownership of them, or any right to copy or redistribute them.

Ending access

We may suspend or end access where these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy are breached. You may close your account at any time: see delete your account and data.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms or the policies they include, we publish the new version here with its version number and effective date. Each account’s acceptance records the version it accepted.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. Nothing in them takes away a right you have under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act and the Protection of Personal Information Act.
