Child Safety and Safeguarding
How we protect learners, most of whom are minors. It is part of the Terms and Conditions you accept at sign-up.
Our position
Most VirtualX users are school learners under 18. Where a safety decision and a commercial decision conflict, safety decides.
A parent or guardian agrees
A learner under 18 signs up only with the agreement of a parent or guardian, confirmed when the Terms and Conditions are accepted at sign-up. A parent or guardian may ask us at any time to close the learner’s account.
No learner-to-learner contact
VirtualX has no messaging, no comments, no forums and no profiles that other learners can see. A learner can invite guests to watch a lesson with them, using single-use links the learner shares themselves. A guest sees only that lesson, cannot message anyone through VirtualX, and sees nothing of the learner’s account.
Data about learners
We collect what the service needs, including the learning record described in the Privacy Policy. Schools and partner organisations see figures about their learners only as groups, never for fewer than ten learners, and never a learner’s answers or conversations. We do not rank learners, publish league tables or label a learner as at risk, and we do not build advertising profiles of learners.
People decide
Suggestions to staff about where a group of learners may need support are advisory and are reviewed by a person. Nothing is sent to a learner, and nothing happens to a learner, automatically.
AI features
Study help is grounded in specific lesson material and cites its source. It is not a companion, it does not hold a persistent profile of a learner, and it is not used to make decisions about a learner.
Reporting a concern
Safeguarding concerns can be raised at any time: write to info@dragonalexa.com with the subject “Safeguarding”, or use the contact page. They are handled separately from sales and support.
